"We are looking forward to seeing you there! It will be a tribute to the Godfather of Hip Hop, the Legendary Gil Scott Heron. We will have live performances by some lyrical heavy weights, including rasta rappers InI Mighty Lockdown, which consists of King Negus, Jolomite, and Savage Messiah, who "bring hardcore conscious music from the underground to the masses subjected to dysfunctional music". Starting with the groundbreaking InI single Faking Jax, produced by DJ Pete Rock and InI Mighty Lockdown’s weekly underground performances in New York’s East Village they have been making a recognizable mark on Hip Hop’s conscious scene since the early nineties, will be performing with their offshoot, the BG'z, Fidel Bogota & Savage Messiah.

InI MLD are also fashion designers, with a t-shirt line called Authentic I-Wear Garments, which has been spotted on singer Lauryn Hill in a popular magazine. Also blessing da mic will be the nationally known spoken word artist J-Square, a New York based writer, poet and performance artist. Coining his style as "political/social commentary with a tinge of satire and blending hip-hop and historical storytelling, he has been featured at various venues including the Apollo Theatre, The Nuyorican Poetry Café, The Cherry Lane Theatre and S.O.B.'s. s. He has also toured colleges and universities across the country. In 1997, he released his first book "Screams From Below The Brain" and later co-authored NO gOOd NIgg@ bLuez: Poems & tales for Blackman in a post-civil rights America with Mo Beasley. Behind the scenes hard at work @ the Underground Fashion Festival are Shanna Delk and Porcha Walker. This young duo have already established a track record of memorable fashion shows and showcases, lucrative ticket sales, profits in the thousands and new and exciting runway shows. They are embarking on a broader phase of their campaign targeted for and about and to urban audience, with a series of community based shows, showcases and small promotional parties both formal and informal; All needed to achieve success for micro-entrepreneurs. They have a first hand understanding of their constituents needs, having run Adore designs, a creative clothing line. The two are supported by a skilled team of professional and volunteers all with the same vision. Together the two partners are leaders, building a lasting impression for community fashion, and enterprise for others to follow!
